Nevada has now moved about 400,000 voter records off the active rolls—or into inactive status—in a little more than a year. The result? The Democrat’s “lock” on the Battle Born state has vanished.
Francisco “Cisco” Aguilar, a Harry Reid protégé, runs the Secretary of State’s office. There is no national emergency, no “threat to democracy” chyron, and no voter-suppression coverage by the MSM—because Republicans aren’t the ones cleaning the rolls.
The first dump is Aguilar’s own 2025 list-maintenance report.
From January 1, 2025, through January 7, 2026, counties canceled 176,928 registrations and inactivated 138,367 voters. That is 315,295 files. Cancellations alone were about 8.4% of the then-active file of 2,116,453 voters. Clark County, where accounted for 141,142 of those cancellations—80% of the statewide total.
Clark County is where the Democratic machine lives. That is also where most of the dead weight came off the roll.
The second dump quietly landed this week.
August active registration fell by 50,130, or 2.37%, to 2,062,136. Nonpartisans dropped 18,791. Democrats dropped 14,168. Republicans dropped 13,003. Nonpartisans remain the largest bloc at 796,805, or 38.64%. Democrats are 569,337, or 27.61%. Republicans are 568,665, or 27.58%.
Democrats now lead Republicans by only 672 voters statewide.
In January 2020, Democrats were 38% of the electorate and led Republicans by more than 83,000 active voters. When automatic voter registration kicked in that year, the Democratic edge topped 110,000. By the 2020 general, Democrats held an 87,000-voter lead in a state Joe Biden carried by 33,596. Even in 2022, Democrats still led by about 63,000.
By November 2024, the advantage was down to fewer than 6,000.
Six years ago, Democrats enjoyed an 87,000-voter lead and treated Nevada like a lock. Now they’re hanging onto 672 names.
If a Republican secretary of state removed 315,000 registrations, then another 50,000 two months before a midterm, and the Democratic registration advantage collapsed with it, national media would call it a purge. Under Aguilar, the same work is described as routine maintenance.
This is the same office that told the Justice Department a complete voter file—including driver’s license numbers and the last four Social Security digits—was “not a public record.”
Aguilar called Homeland Security’s noncitizen-match figures “speculative.” Yet, removing nearly 400,000 names did not produce the same urgency.
The rules around voter registration and voting were unilaterally written by Democrats: mail ballots to every active voter, unlimited ballot harvesting, results that arrive days after Election Night, no proof of ID required, same day voter registration, automatic voter registration, and the elimination of precinct voting.
These policies have repeatedly produced “miraculous” last-minute victories for the Harry Reid machine by razor-thin margins— including Catherine Cortez Masto’s 2022 U.S. Senate re-election win by fewer than 8,000 votes (0.78%), numerous down-ballot Nevada Assembly and State Senate races decided by just hundreds of votes (in favor of Democrats), and the bitterly contested 2020 Clark County Commission District C race where Republican Stavros Anthony (now Nevada Lieutenant Governor) lost by a mere 10 votes.
Those same policies helped lock in a near-supermajority for Democrats in the Legislature.
In heavily contested Washoe County, election officials repeatedly failed to remove inactive voters before mailing ballots, resulting in tens of thousands of undeliverable mail ballots returned to the post office.
In the 2020 primary alone, Washoe County had over 27,000 ballots returned as undeliverable, while Clark County saw nearly 223,000 undeliverable ballots in the same election.
These staggering numbers served as flashing red warning signs of deeply flawed voter list maintenance that wasted taxpayer resources and severely undermined public confidence. The Democrats referred to critics as conspiracy theorists and election deniers.
Gov. Joe Lombardo has pushed bills to tighten election laws, but the Democratic legislative majority killed them. Attorney General Aaron Ford, now running for governor, calls voter ID unconstitutional.
A voter ID ballot initiative, Question 7, already approved by 73 percent of Nevadans in 2024, is back on the November ballot and will enshrine voter ID into the state constitution. Voters keep saying they want voter ID. Democrats keeps explaining why they should not have one.
When private plaintiffs tried to force a cleanup, Ford’s office called it an “assault on Nevadans’ democratic rights.” Then the Democratic secretary of state canceled 177,000, inactivated 138,000, and cut another 50,000 voters from the active file.
That 2025–2026 routine maintenance is a step toward an accurate roll. It is also an indictment of years of neglect—and of a political class that treated list maintenance as an attack until it had no choice.
True election integrity is not a reactive purge after the Justice Department applies pressure. It is required, proactive, and transparent.
Aguilar’s latest “purge” has collapsed the Democratic lead, and the silence that followed told the rest of the story.
