Known by the Company You Keep
On Tuesday, GOP Assemblymember Danielle Gallant announced her campaign kick-off event for State Senate District 20 – currently held by conservative State Sen. Jeff Stone.
The invite is quite revealing. For sure, Gallant is the political establishment’s anointed candidate.
Her “host committee” is loaded up with high-priced lobbyists who put a premium on legislators who are “flexible,” not principled. In addition, get a load of this list of host committee supporters:
- Richard Perkins, former DEMOCRAT Assembly Speaker – though Gallant disingenuously describes him only as “Former Henderson Chief of Police.”
- Pete Ernaut – lobbyist/architect of the Hollywood Handout during November’s special session
- Tommy White – the labor union boss who recently UN-endorsed conservative Republican Clark County Commissioner April Becker because she voted against the gas tax hike
- Joe Hardy – the only Republican to vote for BOTH of the largest tax hikes in Nevada history (2003, 2015)
- P.K. O’Neill – who voted for the largest tax hike in state history in 2015 and the Hollywood Handout in 2025
- John Steinbeck – the state senator who chalked up the second WORST conservative voting record among senate Republicans in the 2025 session – and voted for the Hollywood Handout
- Carrie Buck – GOP state senator who sued the Clark County Republican Party after she lost a race for chairman – and has faced sharp conservative backlash for her abortion‑related votes and positions
- Elliott Malin – who endorsed A-Ron Ford for attorney general in 2022 and sued the Nevada GOP executive director
Senate District 20 is a conservative district. If you’re known by the company you keep, Gallant clearly isn’t.
