Do THESE Black Lives Really Matter All that Much?
The day after the murder of five police officers in Dallas by Micah X, Nevada State Sen. Aaron Ford wrote a very moving post about his sons, his family and the turmoil our country is facing over race these days.
You could literally feel his anguish in his words, and I certainly empathize with him. However, there was one word in his post that I disagree with that gets to the heart of this whole problem. It was in the following paragraph…
“My wife and I are raising good Americans. Patriots. But like so many other parents across the nation, we are overcome with concern for our children. Justifiably so, based on recurrent unjustifiable killings of black boys and men.”
“Unjustifiable.” That’s where the disconnect between many blacks and whites lies.
It seems to many white folks that ANY time ANY black is killed by a police officer, it’s deemed “unjustified,” regardless of circumstances. The very fact that the victim was black seems to mean, in the black community, that the shooting was unjustified.
And that perception was buttressed by this Hillary Clinton tweet I mentioned about a couple days ago…
“Alton and Philando’s deaths are the latest in a long, painful litany of African Americans killed in police incidents – 123 so far this year.”
The clear insinuation in that short, little tweet is that there have been 123 “unjustified” shooting deaths of blacks by police this year.
It’s an intentionally misleading, totally irresponsible tweet from a detestable woman who will say and do absolutely anything to get back in the White House.
Knowing that just about everything that comes out of this woman’s mouth is a lie, I researched her claim about 123 African-Americans who have been killed in dust-ups with police this year.
The statistic comes from a running Washington Post tally sheet which, at the time of this writing, showed a total of 509 citizens who have been killed by police so far this year.
And not that the Black Lies Matter folks give a damn, but “most of those killed by police are male and white.”
Somehow, after learning of that fact, I didn’t get the urge to go out and loot a convenience store or set a police car on fire. But maybe that’s just me.
Anyway, let me share a little information from the WaPo list and take a closer look at some of these poor, little black “victims”…

P.S. According to a report in Saturday’s Las Vegas Review-Journal, a Nevada Highway Patrol sergeant has been fired for sending photos of his wiener to a dispatcher who had previously sent him nude pictures of herself using a private cellphone.
The report says lawyers for the fired officers argue that the whole incident had been “blown out of proportion.” Interesting word choice.
